We are so excited about our field trip tomorrow to the River Center in Columbus, GA, to see Dog Man the Musical. We have been reading some chapters in one of the books to become familiar with the characters. We can't wait!!! Please remember to wear uniforms, we will have lunch from Chick-fi-la brought to us down at the park, and we will be home before dismissal!!
In reading this week, we are finding out about what causes earthquakes in the selection, All About Earthquakes. It has lots of interesting facts about how they change Earth's surface. The test will be on Friday!
In grammar, we are continuing our study of singular and plural nouns and irregular plural nouns. See your child's binder for the activities we've done that you can use to look over and study for the test. The test will be on Friday.
Our phonics skill this week is a review of all the long sounds we've done so far. We looked at some 2-syllable words to see how the long sound is spelled with those as well as the one syllable words we've already studied. Our pretest is Thursday and test will be on Friday!! I was so impressed at how well most did last Friday!! Keep up the hard work!
In math, we are continuing to work on our facts within a two-minute time limit. Keep practicing at home! We will be identifying the differences in coins, counting nickels, and reading a Venn diagram, ordering 2-digit words. .Keep checking over the homework portion of work your child brings home each night.
Keep in mind that next week will mark the halfway point in the second nine weeks. Keep encouraging your child to read every night. They will need to be at the halfway point next week in points toward their AR goal!! Keep working hard!!
